Benzyl 2-(chlorosulfonyl)ethylcarbamate (BS-CSC) is a peptidomimetic that inhibits the matrix metalloproteinases, which are involved in tumor metastasis. BS-CSC has been shown to have high affinity for the amino acid sequence of arginine and aspartic acid. It inhibits tumor growth by blocking the uptake of cyclic AMP and extracellular matrix proteins, thereby preventing tumor metastasis.
