Trans-4-Bromocinnamaldehyde is a synthetic organic compound. It is a functional theory that can be used in the synthesis of pyrazoles, reaction products of amines and β-unsaturated aldehydes, or as organocatalytic reagents. Trans-4-Bromocinnamaldehyde has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. This molecule is synthesized from the reaction of aniline and 2,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde. Trans-4-Bromocinnamaldehyde also has hydroxyl group and a reactive functional group that can be used for chemical stability or as synthons for biomolecular methodologies.
