Product Information
2-Bromo-4-(hydroxymethyl)benzaldehyde is a chiral ligand that can be used to catalyze asymmetric reactions. It is an allylic amination and alkylation agent, and the reaction product is obtained in high enantiomeric excess. 2-Bromo-4-(hydroxymethyl)benzaldehyde can also be used as a chiral ligand for nucleophilic substitution reactions such as the palladium-catalyzed, tentagel method. In this process, the substrate undergoes a nucleophilic substitution with a chiral Lewis acid catalyst to form an allyl alcohol or an allyl ether.
