Boc-O-2-bromo-Z-L-tyrosine is a synthetic peptide. It binds to the enkephalins and inhibits the uptake of hyaluronic acid, which is required for pain transmission. Boc-O-2-bromo-Z-L-tyrosine has been shown to be an anticoagulant in animal models, but does not affect blood coagulation in humans. This molecule also has been shown to have an antiinflammatory effect and can be used as a potential analgesic.
