Boc-L-homophenylalanine is a synthetic amino acid that is used in the synthesis of peptides and proteins. It is synthesized by deamination of L-phenylalanine using hydrochloric acid, followed by acetylation of the resulting benzyl esters with acetic anhydride. The final step in the synthesis process involves treatment with morpholin-4-ylacetic acid to produce Boc-L-homophenylalanine. This synthetic amino acid has been shown to have experimental anti-inflammatory properties.
