N-alpha-Boc-N-alpha-Methyl-L-phenylalanine is a tetrapeptide that is the N-terminal amino acid of the analgesic substance endomorphin. It has a hydroxy group at position 6 and an affinity for opioid receptor sites. N-alpha-Boc-N-alpha-Methyl-L-phenylalanine is a substituent of hexapeptides, which are analgesics that have been shown to have antiinflammatory properties. The structure of this molecule includes an alkylene chain substituted with a pyridyl group.
