Boc-3,4-Dichloro-D-Phenylalanine is a synthetic compound that is an antagonist at the tachykinin receptor. It specifically binds to the human tachykinin receptor and blocks the binding of substance P. This drug has been shown to inhibit ovulation in female squirrel monkeys and increase food intake in male squirrel monkeys. Boc-3,4-Dichloro-D-Phenylalanine also has pharmacokinetic properties that are optically active. The intravenous administration of this drug has been shown to have activity in vivo.
