Product Information
- Fmoc-L-Orn(Fmoc)-OH
N-alpha,delta-Bis-Fmoc-L-ornithine is an amide group that is used as a fluorescent sensor for metal ions. It selectively reacts with Cu2+, Fe3+, and Zn2+ ions. N-alpha,delta-Bis-Fmoc-L-ornithine has a high affinity for these metal ions, which can be monitored using fluorescence spectroscopy. This sensor is selective for the target metal ion and does not react with other metal ions or molecules, such as amino acids or DNA bases. It is synthesized by solid phase chemistry on an amide support and has been shown to have a chain length of up to 24 atoms in its backbone structure.
