Description

Boc-4-bromo-L-phenylalanine is a pharmacological agent that has been shown to be effective against malignant brain tumors. It is used as a radiolabeled probe in the study of tumor growth and metabolism. Boc-4-bromo-L-phenylalanine labels tumor cells with high affinity, yielding high signal intensity in autoradiographs of tumor sections. This compound has also been used to study the distribution of chloramine T (a selective cytotoxic agent) within the whole body of an experimental animal.
