Description

Boc-S-methyl-L-cysteine is a tetrapeptide that is a potent antagonist of the angiotensin II receptor. It has been shown to have beneficial effects on blood pressure and organocatalytic activities. Boc-S-methyl-L-cysteine has also been shown to be an inhibitor of benzyl alcohol, which may be useful in treatments for depression and other related conditions. The enantiomer of Boc-S-methyl-L-cysteine is also active, and it can be used as a chiral building block for the synthesis of peptides with bioactive properties.
