Boc-D-allo-isoleucine is a cyclic peptide that belongs to the class of hexapeptides. It is a natural product that can be isolated from ascidians. The molecule has been shown to inhibit thermolysin, an enzyme that degrades proteins, and it has been used as a reagent in organic chemistry. Boc-D-allo-isoleucine can also be synthesized by reacting benzyl bromoacetate with cysteine and the esterification of the resulting amide with allyl alcohol. This compound has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
