Boc-O-methyl-DL-tyrosine is a synthetic drug that has been shown to inhibit the activity of microtubules. It has been used as an anti-cancer agent in the past. Boc-O-methyl-DL-tyrosine is a macrocyclic compound with a molecular weight of 303.28 g/mol and a melting point of 168 °C. The molecule contains two epoxide groups and an ester bond, which are responsible for its anti-microtubule activity. This drug was synthesized by reacting DL-tyrosine with methyl bromoacetate in the presence of triethylamine and sodium hydroxide.
