Product Information
- Boc-D-Dap(Fmoc)-OH
N-Alpha-Boc-Nβ-Fmoc-D-2,3-diaminopropionic acid (NBDAP) is an amino acid with the side chain of a diamine. It is used in the synthesis of glycoproteins and glycoconjugates. NBDAP binds to carbohydrates and has shown to have anti-cancer activity in vivo assays. It inhibits the uptake of glucose into cancer cells through binding to sugar receptors on the cell surface. The uptake of other sugars is also inhibited by NBDAP, suggesting that it may be used as a treatment for diabetes mellitus type 2. NBDAP is synthesized using a synthetic approach, which involves coupling two different amines together by an amide bond. This synthetic process does not require protection/deprotection steps for each amino function because it uses an isostere for one of the amino functions.
