Boc-trans-4-hydroxyproline benzyl ester is an allylglycosylated glycopeptide. It has a helical structure and also mimics collagen. Boc-trans-4-hydroxyproline benzyl ester is synthesized by solid phase peptide synthesis. The optimum pH for the synthesis of this compound is 7.5, and it is soluble in water at pH 3.0 or higher. This glycosylated tripeptide has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium perfringens.
