Description:
The compound Boc-2-isothiocyanatoethylamine is a nonviral DNA binding agent. It has been shown to bind to the benzene ring of the DNA backbone and to form a stable complex with nucleic acid. Boc-2-isothiocyanatoethylamine has also been shown to bind to small molecules such as piperidine, which are important in protein synthesis. Binding of the compound may inhibit transcription and replication by interfering with RNA polymerase binding.
