Description

Z-benzotriazole is a sugar-based molecule that can act as an antagonist of the glucosamine receptor. It binds to the monosaccharide binding site on the glucosamine receptor, preventing it from activating and signaling downstream. Z-benzotriazole has been shown to inhibit endotoxin release in mice, which may be due to its ability to antagonize the binding of glucosamine to the receptor. This drug also has anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting phospholipase A2 and reducing prostaglandin synthesis.
