Description

(S)-(1-Boc-piperidin-2-yl)acetic acid is a compound that is found in human plasma. It is a metabolite of the neurotransmitter d-serine, which plays a role in brain processes such as learning and memory. The physiological response to (S)-(1-Boc-piperidin-2-yl)acetic acid was studied in human plasma samples by derivatizing it with carbonyl chloride and measuring its concentration using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The validated method has linearity over the range of 0.4 to 2.0 μM and good accuracy with an intraassay coefficient of variation (CV) of less than 10%.
