Description:

1,3-Benzothiazole-2-carbaldehyde is an irreversible oxidation agent that belongs to the class of polycarboxylic acids. It has been shown to have anti-leukemic activity in mice and is a potential treatment for cancer. The hypoglycemic effect of 1,3-Benzothiazole-2-carbaldehyde is due to its ability to inhibit protease activity and it has been shown to be effective on pancreatic cells, which are important in diabetes. In addition, this compound has been shown to have nitro group reactivity, which may make it useful in X-ray diffraction data analysis. This compound also reacts with hydroxyl groups, making it a specific treatment for certain types of cancer.
