Product Information
- Pyrrolidine, 2-(4-bromophenyl)-
- 2-(4-Bromo-Phenyl)-Pyrrolidine
2-(4-Bromophenyl)pyrrolidine is a monomer with a ring structure. It is used in pharmaceutical formulations and has been shown to have anti-cancer and anti-infective properties. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)pyrrolidine inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting protein synthesis, which may be due to its nitrosation activity. It also prevents bacterial growth by binding to DNA and RNA, forming an imine with the N7 nitrogen atom on guanine. This imine ring formation inhibits the activity of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)pyrrolidine is synthesized from arylsulphonamides, which are prepared from anilines and sulphonic acids. These reactants are reacted in an amide bond formation process to produce polyolefin chains, which are then linked together
