Description:

(1R,2R)-Boc-1,2-diaminocyclohexane is an enantiopure diamine that is used as a starting material for the synthesis of chiral diamines. It can be prepared from 2-formylphenylboronic acid and (1S,2S)-Boc-1,2-diaminocyclohexane in the presence of a boronate reagent. The compound has been characterized by NMR spectroscopy and found to be a racemic mixture of enantiopure diastereoisomers. The two diastereomers are not distinguishable by NMR spectroscopy due to their similar chemical shifts. However, they can be resolved using chiral HPLC or by derivatisation with (-)-alpha-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl alcohol.
