(+)-Biotinamidocaproyl hydrazide is a mannosylated oligosaccharide that is used for the preparation of glycoproteins. It has been shown to be reactive with mouse monoclonal antibodies and can be used in diagnostic assays. (+)-Biotinamidocaproyl hydrazide reacts with human serum and mouse monoclonal antibodies, which are specific for the surface glycoprotein on T84 cells. This agent can also be used in the detection of epidermal growth factor (EGF). The solution containing (+)-biotinamidocaproyl hydrazide should be prepared by adding 100 µL of water to 1 mg of (+)-biotinamidocaproyl hydrazide and reacting at room temperature for 30 minutes. The reaction mixture should then be diluted with either water or 50% acetonitrile before use as a sample preparation reagent.
