Description

2-Bromo-1-(4-(methylthio)phenyl)ethanone is an insecticide that belongs to the group of esters. It has a strong inhibitory effect on acetylcholinesterase and cox-2, which are enzymes that regulate the production of substances associated with inflammation and pain. 2-Bromo-1-(4-(methylthio)phenyl)ethanone also has an insecticidal effect against mosquitoes and other insects by inhibiting their acetylcholine receptors. This substance has been shown to have antiproliferative activity in cancer cells, as well as anti-proliferative activity in insects. It can be used as a bishydrazone or synergist for pyrethroid insecticides.
