Description:
3-benzoylpropionitrile is a chemical substance that belongs to the class of pyrroles. It has been shown to have antagonistic activities and antihypertensive activity. 3-benzoylpropionitrile has also been found to prevent bone resorption in rats. This substance can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of other substances, such as ketonitriles, phosphines, aldehydes, enamines, and phenoxybutanoic acid. The synthesis of 3-benzoylpropionitrile yields phenyl groups and alkene compounds.
