6-Bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-8-amine is an asymmetric, planar coordination compound that crystallizes as a dihydrochloride salt. The molecule contains two asymmetric carbon atoms and the bond distances are consistent with a planar geometry. The molecule has three donor atoms (N, H and Br) and one acceptor atom (NH). In addition, there are four hydrogen bonds in the crystal structure. 6-Bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-8-amine is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as acetone or chloroform.
