Description:

5-Bromovaleryl chloride is an organobromine compound that is used in pharmaceutical preparations and as a reagent for analytical chemistry. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, which may be useful for the treatment of cancer. 5-Bromovaleryl chloride is also used in molecular modeling studies and cancer gene therapy. The drug has been shown to inhibit primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), which is an inflammatory disorder of the bile ducts, with trifluoroacetic acid as a carrier. 5-Bromovaleryl chloride also has anti-cancer properties by acting as a 5-ht agonist, inhibiting tumor growth and metastasis in mice models of cervical cancer.
