This compound has been shown to induce apoptosis by binding to response elements in the DNA of cancer cells and activating transcription. Boc-4-amino-1-methylpyrrole-2-carboxylic acid 1,2,3 - benzotriazol ester is also known as an unsymmetrical molecule due to the presence of different substituents at different positions on the molecule. The synthesis of this compound involves the stepwise condensation of ethylene diamine with 1,2,3 benzotriazole carboxylic acid followed by amide bond formation with 4 amino pyrrole.
