Description:
1-Butyl-3-methylimidazoliumnitrate is an ionic liquid that has a high dielectric constant and low viscosity. It has been shown to have good transport properties and chemical interactions, which may be due to its low vapor pressure. 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazoliumnitrate has a thermal expansion coefficient of -0.0015 cm/cm/°C, which is much lower than the values for water (-0.0035 cm/cm/°C) and ethanol (-0.0019 cm/cm/°C). The solutes in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazoliumnitrate are chloride ions, metal ions, hydrogen bond solutes, or solvents such as alcohols or polyols.
