Description:
2-bromo-4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole is a synthetic drug that has been shown to be active against tuberculosis. It is a phenyl analog of thiacetazone and is not active against replicating bacteria. 2-bromo-4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole is considered to be a chemotype because it differs from other thiacetazones in terms of its catalytic properties. This agent has been shown to produce cross resistance with other thiacetazones and may also have a role in the treatment or prevention of infectious diseases.
