Product Information
- (R)-2-Bromoisovaleric acid
- R-2-Bromo-3-methylbutyric acid
(R)-2-Bromo-3-methylbutyric acid is a carboxylic acid that is used as a substrate for glutathione transferases. It has been shown to be an excellent substrate for certain glutathione transferases that show high affinity, stereoselectivity, and activity. (R)-2-Bromo-3-methylbutyric acid is also a substrate for the cytosolic carboxylate aminotransferase in rat liver and can be conjugated with glutathione to form the corresponding glutathione conjugates. The enantiomers of this compound are racemic, but they have different affinities for the target enzymes.
