N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-1H-pyrazole-1-carboxamidine is a synthetic anticancer drug that has been shown in vivo to have anticancer activity. It is an amphipathic molecule with a hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions. The fluorescence of this compound can be used to detect the presence of bacteria and has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth. This drug also has antibiotic activity against Staphylococcus aureus, which may be due to its ability to induce cell death by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins vital for cell division. N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-1H-pyrazole-1-carboxamidine has been shown to bind selectively to primary amines, which are important for pharmacophore design optimization.
