Product Information
- 3-Butyl-1-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium tetrachloroferrate(1-)
- 1-BUTYL-3-METHYLIMIDAZOLIUM TETRACHLOROFERRATE
1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloroferrate is a triazine with a synergic effect on the transport properties of water. It has been shown to be thermodynamically stable and soluble in organic solvents, such as chloroform. 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloroferrate has a viscosity that ranges from 2.5 to 3.0 times that of water at pH 7 and 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). It is also used as an efficient method for the determination of chloride ions in fatty acids. The adsorption mechanism for 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloroferrate is not fully understood, but it may involve ionic interactions between the cationic ammonium groups and the anionic chloride ions.
