Description

Trans-1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylene is a ruthenium complex that is used as a catalyst. It is an electron donor that can bind to chloride ions and other halides to form electron-deficient complexes. The synthesis of the trans-1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylene can be achieved by reacting diphenyl ether with phosphorus trichloride. The trans-1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylene has been shown to react with thiolate ligands in model complexes.
