Description

N-tert-Butoxycarbonylimidazole is a chemical compound that belongs to the imidazole family. It is used as a reagent in organic synthesis and other preparative methods. N-tert-Butoxycarbonylimidazole can be obtained by reaction of hexane, benzene, and imidazole at high yield. This product is also used as a nucleophilic reactant in organic solvents. N-tert-Butoxycarbonylimidazole is an inexpensive and industrially scalable reagent for the preparation of dexmedetomidine by displacement of chloride from 2-(1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)-1,1,3,3,-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate (HBTU) with the imidazole group on n-tetrabutoxycarbonylimidazole.
