1,3,5-Benzenetrimethanol is a group p2 molecule that has ester linkages. FTIR spectroscopy was used to identify the molecular weight of 1,3,5-benzenetrimethanol as 148.4 g/mol. The molecular weight was calculated from the FTIR spectrum using the equation:
