4-Butoxybenzoic Acid is a carboxylic acid that can be found in pharmaceuticals, such as the anti-mycobacterial agent ethambutol. 4-Butoxybenzoic Acid is an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds, such as methylparaben. It has been shown to have antimycobacterial activity and is active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex.
