Product Information
- Benzylidene-2-napthylamine
- N-[(E)-phenylmethylidene]naphthalen-2-amine
Benzylidene-2-naphthylamine is a chemical compound that is used in the synthesis of acetoacetate. It has been shown to react with quinoline derivatives, forming reaction products and benzylidene-2-naphthol. Benzylidene-2-naphthol has been shown to have luminescence properties and can be used in the detection of DNA, RNA, and proteins. When reacted with methyl ethyl ketone or ethyl acetoacetate, it forms 2-naphthylamine. The carbonyl group in this molecule reacts with dihydro derivatives to form dihydro derivative products. This molecule also forms heterocyclic ring structures, which are quaternary salt compounds that contain an amine group as well as a nitrogen atom bonded to four carbon atoms. Benzylidene-2-naphthylamine can react with another molecule to form a methyl ethyl ketone
