5-Bromobenzo[b]thiophene is an organic molecule that acts as a thrombin inhibitor. It binds to the active site of thrombin, which prevents the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. 5-Bromobenzo[b]thiophene is also used in photochemistry and fluorescence spectroscopy.
