Bis(4-bromophenyl)amine is a colorless liquid with a slightly pungent odor. It has a boiling point of 153°C, and a density of 1.07 g/cm3. Bis(4-bromophenyl)amine is soluble in water and organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, chloroform, benzene, and acetone. This compound can be used to prepare the anion of bis(4-bromophenyl)amine. Bis(4-bromophenyl)amine has been used for optical properties studies and for the synthesis of supramolecular architectures. In addition, it has been found to have photocatalytic activity as well as perovskite forming ability when combined with lead iodide.
