It can be used for polymer synthesis by irradiation with UV light or electron beam. The absorption process of 1,2-Bis[2-methylbenzo[b]thiophen-3-yl]-3,3,4,4,5,5 hexafluoro cyclopentene is activated by IR radiation and has a constant value of 3.7x10^(-6).
