2,2-Bis(3-amino-4-methylphenyl)hexafluoropropane is a carboxylate that can act as a transfer catalyst in the synthesis of polyimides. It is also used to form polymers by free radical polymerization of norbornadiene in the presence of bromomethyl groups. 2,2-Bis(3-amino-4-methylphenyl)hexafluoropropane is also capable of stabilizing polymer films during the phase transfer process, and it has been used for irradiation induced crosslinking reactions.
