Product Information
Biphenyl-3,3',5,5'-tetracarboxylic acid is a polymeric material with a high surface area and a porous structure. This compound is used in the preparation of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) as an exciton blocking layer. Biphenyl-3,3',5,5'-tetracarboxylic acid has been shown to exhibit fluorescence enhancement in the presence of lanthanide ions. The fluorescence properties of biphenyl-3,3',5,5'-tetracarboxylic acid are due to its ability to act as a ligand for metal ions. The biphenyl-3,3',5,5'-tetracarboxylic acid crystal x-ray diffraction pattern exhibits strong peaks near 7° 2θ and 13° 2θ that correspond to the position of the biphenyl ring system.
