Meso-Butane-1,2,3,4-tetracarboxylic Dianhydride is an organic compound that has a dry weight of approximately 54.07 g/mol. It is soluble in organic solvents and hydrophobic interactions with membranes. It is insoluble in water and has a boiling point of 246°C at atmospheric pressure. Meso-Butane-1,2,3,4-tetracarboxylic Dianhydride has been shown to adsorb to serum albumin and chloride ions by gravimetric analysis techniques and the use of bovine serum as a solvent. It can be used for the synthesis of other meso-carboxylic dianhydrides including meso-pentadecane tetracarboxylic dianhydride (MPDA).
