Product Information
- N-[(9H-fluoren-9-ylmethoxy)carbonyl]-4-fluorophenylalanine
- 2,4-Ditrifluoromethylphenylacetic Acid
2,4-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetic acid is an oxime that has been shown to be a regioselective and efficient alkylation agent for the synthesis of benzodiazepines. It can also be used as an antiarrhythmic drug. 2,4-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetic acid reacts with an aryl halide in the presence of a base to form the corresponding benzooxazinone. This reaction is catalytic and proceeds via oxidative cleavage with hydrogen peroxide or sodium perborate, followed by coupling with an appropriate amine to produce the desired benzodiazepine. The use of this reagent provides a simple and economical route to various benzodiazepinones that are not readily available from other routes of synthesis. This class of compounds is useful in treating anxiety disorders, insomnia, muscle spasms, seizures, and alcohol withdrawal
