Product Information

Name:
3-Bromo-2-chlorophenol
Synonyms:
  • Qr Bg Ce
Description:

3-Bromo-2-chlorophenol is a hydroxyl group containing compound that is used in the analytical chemistry and polymer industries. It is also known as bromophenol. The film forming properties of 3-bromo-2-chlorophenol have been studied using hydroxyl groups on the phenolic ring and hydrochloric acid. This product is soluble in water, but not in organic solvents such as ethers or chloroform. The rate of formation of 3-bromo-2-chlorophenol has been found to be dependent on the presence of hydrogen bonds, pH, and radiation. In addition, it can be used to quantitatively measure glutamate dehydrogenase activity by measuring the amount of hydrogen peroxide released from the enzyme reaction with 3-bromo-2-chlorophenol.
