Description:

1-Bromo-2,6-dichlorobenzene is a reactive chemical that belongs to the group of benzyl compounds. It is used in organic synthesis and industrial chemistry as an intermediate in the production of polymers. The macrocyclization reaction, which is initiated by nucleophilic attack on the c-h bond of 1-bromo-2,6-dichlorobenzene by a metal cation, produces cyclen. This reaction can be catalyzed by palladium or other metals. In addition, 1-bromo-2,6-dichlorobenzene can be prepared from 2,4,5-trichlorophenol and benzyl chloride. The time required for this reaction depends on the concentrations of reactants and catalysts used.
