Description

Bruceantin is a sesquiterpene lactone with amoebicidal activity. Bruceantin has been shown to be effective against cancer in vivo treatment and has been found to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in cell culture. Bruceantin binds to fatty acid receptors, which are found on the surface of the cancer cell membrane, leading to apoptosis and an antitumor response. Bruceantin blocks protein synthesis by inhibiting mRNA translation in tumor cells, preventing them from proliferating.
