1-Bromo-2,4,6-trifluorobenzene is a perfluoroalkylated compound that has been used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemical compounds. It has been shown to be a good Grignard reagent and can be used to prepare isopropyl radicals. This chemical also exists in several polymorphic forms and crystallizes as an S8 molecule. 1-Bromo-2,4,6-trifluorobenzene has a maleate group attached to it that can be cleaved by activated bond cleavage with irradiation or thermal treatment. 1-Bromo-2,4,6-trifluorobenzene has photocatalytic activity when exposed to ultraviolet light and shows thermally activated bond cleavage.
