BnO-PEG5-OH is an inorganic acid that is used as a corrosion inhibitor. It has been shown to be a good substrate for the synthesis of polymers with high molecular weight, such as polyesters and polyurethanes. BnO-PEG5-OH also can be used as a coating for metal surfaces, preventing corrosion and increasing the lifespan of the metal.
