BAM-22P is a molecule that is used to identify the presence of β-hydroxylase in the dopamine pathway. It has been shown to inhibit acid proteases, which are enzymes that break down proteins in the body. BAM-22P can be administered orally and has been shown to be effective against stenotrophomonas maltophilia, an infectious bacteria that causes skin cancer and inflammatory diseases. The structure of BAM-22P also contains fatty acids, and amino acid analysis has shown it contain lysine residues.
