Bullatine A is a diterpenoid alkaloid that is isolated from the aconite roots. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, as well as inhibitory effects on cyclase activity, which may be due to its ability to suppress microglia activation and decrease the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Bullatine A has also been shown to have antinociceptive effects in mice, which may be due to its enhancement of κ-opioid receptors. This compound also inhibits bowel disease through its matrix effect. Bullatine A has also been shown to inhibit bone cancer cells by inhibiting their growth and inducing apoptosis.
